Our digital class meetings will continue on Zoom, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 AM. The link to join has been emailed to you. We have gotten into a good routine of listening to a read-aloud, working on an estimation (math) activity, and then student sharing about our reading and/or home projects. Students should have paper  and a pencil  or marker to write with. Also, students may find it helpful to have a 100 chart handy. You can download and print one HERE
, but it is not necessary.

My parent office hours are Wednesdays from 2:00-3:00 PM on Zoom. I am also available by email oe dojo 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Class Meetings will continue on Zoom this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 AM. The link has been emailed to you. On Tuesday I'd like students to be ready to share about a book they are reading or something they've written. On Thursday, they can share math or anything they have worked on.

We have now entered the fourth grading period. There will be no grades this quarter. The yearly grade for each subject area will be calculated using the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter grades only. The second grade teachers will continue to share weekly suggestions with you. No work is required, but we strongly encourage regular reading and math practice. I have set new AR goals for the 4th quarter and students may continue taking AR quizzes on books they read at home. Go to Renaissance Place on the "Students" tab of this web page to take an AR quiz.

Questions? I am available by email during school hours.

PLEASE SEE THE FILES AND DOCUMENTS SECTION FOR RESOURCES AND INFORMATION CONCERNING THE EXTENDED SCHOOL CLOSURE.

The governor has officially closed schools for the remainder of the school year. We are awaiting guidance from the state on what instruction will look like from now on, but there will be no new graded assignments. In other words, please don't stress too much about keeping up with school work. Work completed (or not completed) during this break will not negatively effect students' grades. However, I have provided some materials for those who would like to use it. In the Files section, you will also find a document that details all the topics we have covered so far this school year, and those standards which have not been taught or mastered. I have been making videos for my students so that we can stay connected and share a few minutes of our mutual love for reading each day. See the links section below to navigate to these and other home learning resources.

Also, please consider visiting our specialists webpages (Art, PE, Reading, etc.) for other helpful information and resources!
