PAWS Information Night -  September, 24th at 6:30 with Pizza!

The Parents Active With Students (PAWS) is a dynamic program where parents or other adults in a student's family spend the day at PENN supporting our school. The day starts at 8:45 with check in at the office. The adult is given a schedule for the day. It generally starts on the Car Rider line then moves in to your child's classroom; then to another classroom; encore with your child's class; lunch and recess; and finishes on the bus ramp in back. To sign up for a day, parents must attend the information night which is scheduled for next Thursday, September 24th at 6:30. Pizza will be served and child care is provided following the Pizza. You should have received a flyer about this meeting from school status. We ask that you RSVP, so we have enough seating and pizza for everyone.

Back to School Nights  

  • Monday, September 28th for Preschool, Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd Grades
  • Tuesday, September 29th for 1st, 4th, and 5th Grades

We have our Back to School Nights next week on Monday and Tuesday evenings 6:30-7:30. Monday night is for our PK, Kinder, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade parents. Tuesday is for our 1st grade, 4th grade and 5th grade parents. Each teacher is prepared to meet their parents on the appropriate night in their classroom. The teacher will share a short video from Dr. McDade, Dr. Lateif, and Mr. Blake, as well as our Continuous Improvement Plan at PENN. They will then share grade level and classroom information on how to stay up-to-date and help your student succeed at PENN. The evening starts at 6:30 and ends at 7:30. Unfortunately, this is not a time for individual conferences, however, teachers will be scheduling conferences for Monday, November 2nd. We look forward to seeing you next week.

Fun RUN Saturday October 17th at 9:00 a.m.!

We are having our Fun Run on Saturday, October 17th. Running starts at 9:00 a.m. We have sent home sign up sheets already. Each runner will have a Fun Run Shirt and receive a medal at the end of the run. Cost will be approx $10. You can sign up on line, by creating your account on Student Quick Pay. See the note and QR code below. Once you have an account, you will see the sign up for the Fun Run.

ParentVUE - Important

We still have approximately 50 families who have not completed the Back-to-School Packet in ParentVUE. Please complete the packet to ensure we have up-to-date information in our records. It will also allow you to monitor your children progress and stay in touch with your teacher.

Pay online

PWCS is encouraging all parents and caregivers to use their online payment system, "Student Quick Pay", for paying all student fees such as Field Trips, lost library books, COLOR RUN registration, etc.... Once you register, it is an easy, paperless process which is much safer and more efficient than sending in cash or checks with your student.
